U.S. releases University of Michigan consumer sentiment index

    ETtoday News Agency reported on the 8th that the U.S. released the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index, which is expected to be the market focus on Friday (9th).

    On Friday, South Korea and Taiwan will be closed for holidays. Regarding important economic events around the world, ECB President Lagarde will attend the European Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) meeting. Assistant Governor Silk of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will attend the Reserve Bank of Australia's annual conference and participate in a panel discussion on monetary policy trade-offs. At 6:15 pm Hong Kong time on Friday, ECB Executive Board member Cipollone will join a panel discussion on 'Algorithmic Trading and Decentralized Finance' via online format. At 9:30 pm, ECB Executive Board member Schnabel will deliver a speech and participate in a panel discussion.

    On the data front, at 2:00 pm (Hong Kong time, same below), Japan will release September machine tool orders. At 10:00 pm, the U.S. will release the October University of Michigan consumer sentiment index, expected to decline from 48.1 to 47.6. (wa)
