JAC Motors responds to brake pedal bracket fracture of Zunjie V800: investigation and testing underway

The Economic Information Agency reported on the 8th that in response to the brake pedal bracket fracture incident involving the Zunjie V800, JAC Motors (SSE: 600418) told reporters from the New Beijing Daily that the company has taken note of the incident and is currently conducting an investigation, carrying out various tests, and will issue an official statement once results are available.

JAC Motors hit its daily trading limit down today, closing at 24.72 yuan.

According to earlier reports by Sina Finance, the car review platform Dongche Dadi released a video stating that during real-world testing, three brand-new Zunjie V800 vehicles underwent emergency braking tests from 100km/h to 0. On each of the three vehicles, the brake pedal bracket suffered physical fracture during the second to fourth hard braking applications. After the fracture, the pedal detached and disappeared beneath the driver's foot, completely eliminating foot brake functionality, leaving only the P gear for emergency braking. The braking distance surged from a normal level of around 38 meters to approximately 140 meters. The force reading at the time of fracture was about 1612N, while the typical design load capacity for such brackets in the luxury vehicle industry exceeds 2700N. National standards require the pedal to withstand 2000N for 5 seconds. (jq)
