According to reports, U.S. AI model startup OpenAI informed investors that as of the end of September this year, the company's annualized revenue reached approximately $50 billion, nearly $20 billion lower than the previously reported $68 billion at the end of last month. Additionally, CNBC has confirmed the news, stating that the earlier $68 billion figure included total revenue from OpenAI's partners.
OpenAI's disclosure of a $50 billion annualized revenue figure faces pressure to justify its $852 billion valuation to investors. This has intensified market concerns about an AI bubble, leading to a sharp overnight decline in chip stocks: NVIDIA (US.NVDA) closed down 2.9%, AMD (US.AMD) dropped 3.9%, and Intel (US.INTC) plunged 5.3%.
Currently, the Hang Seng Index stands at 23,983, up 197 points or 0.8%, with main board turnover nearing HK$14.1 billion. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index is at 8,065, up 54 points or 0.7%. The Hang Seng Tech Index is at 4,104, up 31 points or 0.8%.
