Half-day T/O at HK$18bn, or 16% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 9 October 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$111.69 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.27 billion, or 16.36% of the market's turnover. There were 805 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.6 billion and HK$1.09 billion, or 8.78% and 5.95% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 25.67% and 35.59% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$806.39 million and HK$785.85 million of short sales, accounting for 4.41% and 4.3% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 22.03% and 20.56% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.32, or 1.31%, to HK$24.74. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.062, or 1.55%, to HK$4.056. XIAOMI-W rose HK$1.7, or 7.19% to HK$25.36. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$1.14, or 1.39%, to HK$83.1.
