[ET Net News Agency, 3 February 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$124.96 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.79 billion, or 16.64% of the
market's turnover. There were 685 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.93 billion and HK$1.52
billion, or 9.28% and 7.3% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 15.09% and 27.75% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.08 billion and HK$978.65
million of short sales, accounting for 5.21% and 4.71% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 9.7% and 24.45% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$5.7, or 6.46%, to HK$94. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$0.35, or 0.91%, to
HK$37.95. TENCENT rose HK$3, or 0.75% to HK$404.2. TRACKER FUND remained flat, to
HK$20.44.
