[ET Net News Agency, 3 March 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$301.9
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$40.67 billion, or 13.47% of the market's
turnover. There were 712 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W (01810) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.6 billion and HK$3.84 billion, or 11.31%
and 9.43% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 21.33%
and 16.11% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$2.48 billion and HK$2 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.1% and 4.93% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.52% and 41.37% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$2.9, or 2.27%, to HK$130.4. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$0.9, or 1.74%, to
HK$50.95. TENCENT rose HK$4.6, or 0.96% to HK$483.2. BYD COMPANY declined by HK$8, or
2.15%, to HK$363.6.
