HK$242.66 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$37 billion, or 15.25% of the
market's turnover. There were 787 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.8 billion and HK$2.02
billion, or 7.56% and 5.47% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 26.66% and 20.69% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and PING AN (02318) registered HK$1.69 billion and HK$1.46 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.56% and 3.96% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.5% and 34.08% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed up HK$0.78, or 1.85%, to HK$42.96. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.4, or
1.55%, to HK$26.16. TENCENT rose HK$14.5, or 2.41% to HK$616. PING AN jumped HK$2.25, or
3.66%, to HK$63.75.
