[ET Net News Agency, 8 January 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$168.4
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$22.32 billion, or 13.25% of the market's
turnover. There were 676 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.55 billion and HK$2.2 billion, or
11.43% and 9.88% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
26.92% and 6.22% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$1.29 billion and HK$793.51
million of short sales, accounting for 5.79% and 3.56% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 27.34% and 37.61% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.16, or 0.82%, to HK$19.47. TENCENT ended down HK$10.4, or
2.74%, to HK$369.2. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.58, or 0.8% to HK$71.48. CSOP HS TECH declined by
HK$0.054, or 1.26%, to HK$4.22.
