[ET Net News Agency, 10 February 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$135.35 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.26 billion, or 14.97% of the
market's turnover. There were 641 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.96 billion and HK$3.08
billion, or 19.56% and 15.19% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 38.04% and 47.19% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.79 billion and HK$854.89 million of
short sales, accounting for 8.85% and 4.22% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 20.34% and 11.48% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.32, or 1.5%, to HK$21.66. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$1.2, or
1.51%, to HK$80.92. BABA-W rose HK$4.8, or 4.8% to HK$104.8. TENCENT jumped HK$9.2, or
2.15%, to HK$437.4.
